The Lab

Where the work happens. I build it at the bench, code it at the desk, design it and print it across the room. Rarely organized. Always running.

The room

Every project on this site started in this room. Most of them were built, coded, designed and printed here, often all in the same week and usually on the same bench.

It is a basement in Indianapolis: a workbench, a desk full of monitors, two 3D printers, a server rack and a lot of LED light. Something is always half-finished on the mat, and something is always printing.

Where things happen

The bench
Where hardware happens: soldering, wiring, bringing up new boards and taking apart whatever just broke. Pegboard of tools, drawers of parts, a project mid-build.
The desk
Where the code gets written: firmware for the boards, the web apps, and the dashboards and scripts that keep everything else running.
The printers
Where designs become parts. A Bambu P2S and an A1 print the cases, mounts and prototypes, and the small test piece that comes before each of them.
The rack
Where it all runs: a GPU server for local AI, the home automation, and the services the screens and the voice assistant depend on.
The walls
Where it shows up: LED lines, an LED sign and a row of small screens showing what the lab's projects are doing right now.
